Blatantly stolen from ... and, much like it's original owner, doing it for several people. Also I realize that it's pretty pointless to post this, considering that I hardly ever draw my characters, but... oh well.

Remy Jonathan Dallas

1. I can't remember how the name came to me, but for a while I was toying with the idea of having it be an acronym of a bunch of ridiculous names...(I think I came up with "Reginald Emil Mephisto" one summer at work and realized that nobody in their right mind would name their kid that) Then when I worked out his backstory more I realized that it wouldn't fit at all, and left it at just Remy. 'Jonathan' is a generic enough middle name, and his last name was kicking around for a while anyway.
2. Originally Remy was made for a 1x1 Cyberpunk RP between my friend John and I, but after that sort of died, he was shelved for a while... Until I found a pet on Subeta named Industry and decided to color it Nuclear~ XD I figured Remy would fit the color well.
3. At his conception Remy was just my idea of a non-stereotypical uke (I shudder to actually use words like that), but since then he's changed A LOT into a fully fleshed out character. I think the biggest change was defining his past, the whole mess with this family, and the way that shaped him into the person he is currently. I think he actually claims to be asexual just because he'd rather not relate to people like that. He's so afraid of being left behind again that he just isolates himself from people as much as he can; if he does have to interact with others (as he often does, thanks to me), he's very snarky and forthright.
4. He likes weirdly flavored drinks. I think orange+tomato cola (called Tomarenji in his universe; imported from Japan and is the favorite of frat boys who drink it on a dare and nerds who don't want to sleep) is his favorite. It's also where his hacker alias comes from.

Vicente "Vic" Emerson

1. Oh man. Unlike Remy's name has an actual story behind it. When I first made him, he was just called Vic, and nothing else. When I tried to get his backstory down, I realized that I didn't want it to be just short for Victor... No, that would be boring. So instead I made up this huge long tale about how his grandfather, who was adopted by this Italian couple at birth, wrote it into his will that unless one of the kids was named after him, nobody would get any money. Incidentally, that was kind of the reason Vic was never good at anything except being a neo-hippie computer nerd, while his brother Thomas earned the success and recognition that comes with not having a weird name!
2. Vic made his first appearance in a short story about Remy, incidentally. After which I decided to bring him into a 1x1 that Remy was in at the time; He was originally meant to be just a one-time character but since he went over so great, I kept him around for longer.
3. Just like with Remy, the only thing that REALLY changed is that I fleshed him out more and gave him an actual biography and such. His persona sort of stayed the same, though.
4.Vic's the kind of guy to try anything once. He is a huge nerd, but he's also got a big dose of hippie ideology. I have this visual of him being drunk/stoned at some party and trying to explain network security to some girl/guy while they attempt to make out.

Alexandra "Alex" Roslyn Conner

1. I wanted a name that was kind of ambiguously unisex, since I wanted her to be going through little phases of being more feminine or masculine. Alex just seemed to fit; I got the rest off a naming site.
2. Alex was born from a Subeta pet, again. She has bits and pieces of a lot of other characters in her, though, including River Tam and several of my friends. She seems to be cursed as anyone who starts an RP with her consequently drops off the face of the internet, though.
3. Since she hasn't been in a lot of RPs, I haven't really had the chance to work with and develop her much, which is really a shame because she is the one character I REALLY want to play with.

Mikkel Sørensen
1. Again, name sites helped me here. 'Mikkel' is the Swedish version of Michael, one of them anyway (I believe 'Miika' is also.) I wanted something that sounded foreign but not too out of the ordinary. His last name is pronounced more like "S-ye-ren-sen", I think. Fun fact: I have no idea how to make that O with a slash in it. I have to copy-paste his name every time.
2. Subeta again. I'm terrible. I had his basic concept in mind from somewhere else, but I can't remember what. I think it started with this idea of a guy who wasn't one of your cliche skinny gay boys with pretty hair. I wanted Mikkel to be a regular sort of guy, solidly built but neither fat nor overly muscular. That evolved into a person who is only nice when nobody's watching, feeding his lunch to cats in the alley.
3. I'll be honest with you. I like Mikkel, but I am yet to find an environment in which I can play him effectively. The most major change I made to him is putting him in the middle of a physics-bending vortex of cosmic improbability. You know all those stores about stuff falling from the sky? Frogs, or fish, or snow in the middle of summer? Exactly like that, only localized on this one very normal guy who works in a law office.
4. He hates being called Mike. Running is his escape from everything. He loves it.

Hyun-Jae Sun "Joon" Kim

1. Well, when I was trying to find a name for her, I was looking around on the internet for Korean names, and I really liked the sound of Joon, but it was a boy's name... So I figured I would cheat and make it her nickname. I have no idea if Hyun-Jae is an actual name, but I did what I could with the things I could find regarding Korean naming practices, plus a bit of poetic license XD
2. Joon was originally made for an RP on LiveJournal called Toshima; I have n idea if it's still going on or not, but I haven't checked on it in months~
3. Not really~
4. She's a good shot with a handgun, but not very good with a knife. Hence, making salad is a bit of an issue.
